**"Nervous Exhaustion" Now Available for Kindle Pre-Order on Amazon**
May 20, 2024 - West Milford, NJ– I am thrilled to announce that my memoir, "Nervous Exhaustion," is now available for Kindle pre-order on Amazon.com. This book, which holds a deeply personal part of my life, will be officially released and available for download on July 1, 2024. The Hardcover edition will be available to pre-order later this week.
In "Nervous Exhaustion," I lay bare the harrowing journey of my childhood, shattered by betrayal and abuse, and the lifelong battle for healing and justice that followed. Growing up in what I thought was the sanctity of a traditional Irish Catholic household, my dreams of serving as an altar boy were swiftly tainted when a new priest arrived in our Northern New Jersey parish in 1986. Adored by all, this priest soon revealed a darker side, preying upon my trust to inflict years of unspeakable abuse.
For decades, I bore the weight of this trauma in silence, its corrosive effects seeping into every facet of my adult life. But at 41, I found the courage to confront my tormentor, sparking a grassroots movement among my fellow survivors to hold the Church accountable. My advocacy made headlines nationwide, catalyzing crucial reforms in the statute of limitations laws for childhood abuse.
Yet, the battle was far from over. Trapped in the suffocating grip of the Church's manipulation, I faced a new enemy within myself as I grappled with the crippling aftermath of complex PTSD. As the world ground to a halt amid the COVID lockdown, I was forced to confront the demons that threatened to consume me—shame, anger, abandonment, and rage. My journey to recovery was fraught with setbacks and false starts until a groundbreaking therapy offered a glimmer of hope in the darkness.
"Nervous Exhaustion" is more than a memoir; it's a searing indictment of institutional betrayal and a rallying cry for survivors everywhere. Through my raw and unflinching narrative, I aim to grant readers an intimate glimpse into the Church's relentless efforts to silence its victims and control their stories. This book is a lifeline for those grappling with PTSD and a beacon of solidarity for their loved ones. But it's also a testament to the resilience of Generation X, once left to fend for themselves, as we reclaim our power and right the wrongs of our childhood.
In "Nervous Exhaustion," I invite you to bear witness to my journey from darkness to redemption, inspiring hope in the face of unimaginable adversity. Pre-order your copy today on Amazon Kindle to join me on this powerful journey of recovery and justice.
